Gerald B. Robertson, QC, is a professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta, having obtained his LLB from the University of Edinburgh and his LLM from McGill University. He is also a practising barrister and solicitor in Alberta. His main research interests lie in the fields of health law and tort law. His textbooks include Legal Liability of Doctors and Hospitals in Canada, 4th ed. (Toronto: Carswell, 2007, with Madam Justice Ellen Picard), and Mental Disability and the Law in Canada (Toronto: Carswell, 1994). He has published numerous articles in legal and medical journals in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
