Envisioning the Future of Agroecological Food Systems

New!

From: Growing and Eating Sustainably

$1.80

In this chapter the authors summarize that agroecological agriculture must also be based on equity, participation, democracy, and justice, that is not only sustainable but helps restore and protect earth’s life support systems upon which we all depend. Agroecology, as a way of changing farming relations, is decribed as aiming to bring about a reduction in inequality, and greater gender and racial equality. Finally the aim to improve equity and diversity — and therefore, resilience — in the face of changing conditions is described.
