Argues that official multiculturalism serves as a mode of legitimation for an otherwise monocultural Eurocentric Anglo-Franco order. Through it, subaltern ethnicized and racialized “others” are reconciled to this order via a systematic process of hegemony maintenance.
Grace-Edward Galabuzi is an associate professor in the Politics and Public Administration Department at Ryerson University and a research associate at the Centre for Social Justice in Toronto. His research interests include the experiences of racialized groups in the Canadian labour market.
