From: Wanda’s War

Chapter 13 examines the individual trips Wanda and Casey took to Poland during the 1970’s. The chapter reflects on Wanda and Casey’s life and experiences of exile and trauma after the war, their nostalgia for a Poland that no longer existed, the relationships between immigrant parents and their Canadian children, finding Polish communities, and the “era of the survivor.”
