The Politics of Migrant Worker Organizing in Canada
From: Rethinking the Politics of Labour in Canada
$1.90
Migrant labour in Canada is structurally essential to the economy but ultimately treated as a disposable resource. In response, migrants have collectively organized to challenge these exploitative conditions in a variety of ways: from union-based organizing in British Columbia, to campaign-based social movements like the MRN, to hybrid models of organizing as evidenced by the Immigrant Workers Centre.
