HEATHER MURRAY is a professor in the Department of English at the University of Toronto. She is the author of Come, Bright Improvement: The Literary Societies of Nineteenth-Century and other works on Canadian cultural organizations and print history. She is currently writing a history of The Ward’s Gerrard Street Village, Toronto’s first bohemia.
