Chandrima Chakraborty is professor in the Department of English and Cultural Studies and director of the Centre for Peace Studies at McMaster University. She was awarded the title of University Scholar at McMaster University in 2017 and was elected to the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists in 2019. She has published extensively on Indian nationalism and historical memory in India and Canada, including a major study of the commemoration of the Air India disaster in 1985.
