With all the concern the past decade about reducing water consumption in both residential and non-residential uses, you’ll probably not find it surprising that the water field has begun to see considerable innovation, in freshwater supply, water conservation and water reuse. Let’s look first at a full spectrum of water technology innovations. In this chapter, I’ve used the term “blue water” for these innovations, a traditional term for water of drinkable quality. Water technology has become recognized in the past two to three years as a major new investment opportunity.
