Canada Is a Bad Company

Police as Colonial Mercenaries for State and Capital

New!

From: Disarm, Defund, Dismantle

$0.90

In Canada Is a Bad Company author Shiri Pasternak recontextualizes the history of Canada, as the modern state was built to colonize, and this shaped the liberal capitalist institutions of this country. In the chapter, Pasternak examines the modern evolution of the relationship between the police and Indigenous peoples through examples of Indigenous resistance today and how their existence and survival challenges the ideology of conquest, removal, and dispossession of the Canadian state.
