People involved in college and university teaching need to create a higher education version of thinking and acting locally at the classroom level, a vision that will move us towards the goal of connecting both global and local awareness and action for change. We need to renew and increase our reliance on fired-up teachers interacting with students face-to-face in classroom settings. We need to focus on recovering scholarly conversation unmediated by high-tech machinery.
