Marlene R. Atleo

Marlene Atleo, PhD (?eh ?eh naa tuu kwiss or "a person that can say the same thing in a lot of different ways") is a member of the Ahousaht First Nation of British Columbia. For the first half of her life she worked in the salmon fishing industry and now she is a professor of adult and higher education at the University of Manitoba specializing in diversity Aboriginal education, storywork, and phenomenological orienteering. Marlene Atleo has worked at "home" in social, health, wellness, and consumer education through adult programming promoting an "across the kitchen table" style of interaction. She is a grandmother of six, and lives with Umeek, her husband of forty years, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
