Disruptive Direct Action
From: Languages of the Unheard
$1.60
The militant intends to gain a hearing for the silenced or ignored, giving voice to the voiceless and defending public autonomy against the antidemocratic influence of intransigent elites and unresponsive systems of power. If protesters can bring a transportation system to a stop or force a business to shut down for the day, it will make it that much harder to ignore their grievances. At a certain point, disruption can threaten the systems of domination upon which elites depend for their rule.
