Finding Our Path

From: Finding Our Niche

$2.40

The seventh and final chapter of Finding Our Niche, Finding Our Path, begins with the assertion that evidence for how to live within the harmony and limits of nature is all around us, and that it is possible to change the forces of settler capitalism that prevent that from happening wholesale. He explores options for taking down the systems of settler capitalism and replacing it with something more equitable and sustainable, and looks at positive cracks in the system, such as solar energy or cooperatives, as places to start. Loring asserts that we need to learn to walk like a river, meandering, yet purposeful, and also to pay attention to cycles in nature. He also explores the role of grief and forgiveness in the ecological and cultural destruction resulting from colonization.
