Jearld Frederick Moldenhauer is a CanadianAmerican born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. in 1946. His career as a gay activist began in 1967, during his student days at Cornell University. He founded many gay liberation organizations, including student groups at both Cornell and at the University of Toronto, the Glad Day Bookshops (Toronto and Boston), The Body Politicjournal, and the clga (Canadian Lesbian & Gay Archives).
