"Make the Energy Sector Great Again"

Extractive Populism in Saskatchewan

From: Divided

$1.30

In this chapter, the authors explore the phenomenon of "extractive populism," which has become dominant in Western Canada. They suggest that the Saskatchewan government — under the leadership of both Brad Wall and Scott Moe — has been particularly adept at using the claims of extractive populism as a wedge issue to both mobilize their political base and demonize critics of continued extractivism.
