In Chapter 7, Klein examines the role of labour in the fight for climate action. Klein argues that through examining the mobilization of the labor and work force during and after the Second World War, we can see how we can fundamental transformation the role of labour within Canadian society. Focusing on what a Canadian Green New Deal could look like and how it would fight both for climate action as well as fight against inequality and economic insecurity and help us escape the instability of an economy tied to the fossil fuel economy.

Seth Klein
Seth Klein was the founding British Columbia director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives for over two decades and has been immersed in climate change and inequality issues for his working life. He is currently an adjunct professor in urban studies at Simon Fraser University and remains a research associate with the CCPA. He lives in Vancouver, B.C.
