Métis Scholarship in the 21st Century: Life on the Periphery
From: Aboriginal Canada Revisited
$1.20
Consideration for a research subject’s gender, culture, religion, mental capacity, and social structure are paramount in research. Métis researchers often do not have the luxury of conducting research with predetermined protocols that their Indigenous counterparts have. Borrowing protocols from others often replaces the creation of their own, and Métis accept their position on academic margins and adopt methods from both centres.
