C. Ian Kyer is an historian (PhD in Medieval History from the University of Toronto) turned lawyer. He is counsel to Fasken Martineau, where he formerly headed the Technology & Intellectual Property group. An expert in information technology law, he has long been listed by Lexpert as one of Canada’s top 500 lawyers. He has also written a history of legal education in Ontario, The Fiercest Debate (Osgoode Society, 1987), and has recently completed a history of the Faskens firm to be published by Irwin Law in conjunction with the Osgoode Society.
