DR. ELLEN SCHEINBERG is the President of Heritage Professionals, a heritage consulting company in Toronto that delivers archival, museum and information management services. She holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Ottawa and has worked as a heritage specialist and manager for the past twenty-five years. Ellen has published many articles in the areas of archival studies, women’s history, labour history, Canadian Jewish studies and immigration history. She was the recipient of the Ontario Historical Society’s Scadding Award of Excellence and the Alexander Fraser Award, which recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to the advancement of the Ontario archival community throughout their careers. She is currently in the process of completing an illustrated history of Toronto’s Jewish community.
