Dennis Findlay was born in 1947 on a Saskatchewan farm. He is a teacher and gay activist from the early 1970s who lived in a commune, and became a self-taught baker, establishing Altitude Baking. He was active in the Right to Privacy Committee, 1981–85. Now retired, Findlay volunteers at the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives
