The Militant’s Vocation
From: Languages of the Unheard
$2.40
This chapter explores two case studies in the recent history of militancy: the recent Assemblies movement and the Global Justice movement from around the turn of the twenty-first century, and examines the concerns and impulses that animate present-day militants. It underlines the extent to which popular empowerment is central to their aims and methods. It also draws on Martin Luther King’s thinking to develop a sophisticated account of the nature of militancy.
