It is impossible to understand the place of women as citizens in Canada without understanding the moment of women’s inscription as citizens. This moment, and the terms of inscription, have marked and continue to mark the role of women in politics in Canada.
Caroline Andrew is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Ottawa. Her fields of research are women and politics, municipal politics, urban development and intergovernmental relations. She serves on the editorial boards of Studies in Political Economy and the Canadian Journal of Development Studies and is a past member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Canadian Studies.
