TATUM TAYLOR is a writer, heritage planner, and Texan transplant, currently based in Toronto. She holds a master’s degree in historic preservation from Columbia University, where she wrote her thesis on interpreting the heritage of marginalized communities in a museum environment. As part of her work at era Architects, Tatum authored the Preliminary Heritage Interpretation Plan for the New Toronto Courthouse, and led the content development for a number of displays in Toronto City Hall, highlighting artifacts from the Armoury Street Dig. She co-edited the Coach House anthologies The Ward: The Life and Loss of Toronto’s First Immigrant Neighbourhood (2015) and Any Other Way: How Toronto Got Queer (2017). Both were shortlisted for the Toronto Book Award; The Ward was also shortlisted for the Ontario Speaker’s Book Award and won the Heritage Toronto Book Award.
