ROSEMARY SADLIER, OONT, led the Ontario Black History Society from 1993 to 2015. As president, she contributed to the recognition of Black history though education, research, and outreach, and pressed the Canadian government to make Black History Month a national annual event, beginning in 1995. Born and raised in Toronto, she has degrees in teaching and social work, with family roots in Canada reaching back to 1793. Rosemary has received numerous honours for her work, including the Order of Ontario and the William Peyton Hubbard Race Relations Award.
