Degrowth, Decoloniality, and the Unsettling of the Knowing Subject: A Utopian Praxis for Social Work Education
Section 16: Social Work and the Environment
From: Critical Social Work Praxis
$2.00
In the praxis chapter, Macías tackles the issue of environmental social work education and proposes a thought experiment that challenges us to interrogate taken-for-granted conceptions of the relationship between nature and humanity. She puts forward two conceptual frameworks — decoloniality and degrowth — and explores how they may inform and ultimately incite a fundamental change in the way in which we teach and learn about the Earth and our relationship to it.
