Peace River Biodiversity
From: Damming the Peace
$1.60
B.C. wildlife biologist Brian Churchill describes B.C.’s Peace River Valley’s unique biodiversity and what would be destroyed by the Site C dam under construction there. Adjacent to the Rocky Mountains, Boreal Plains and northern Prairies, the Peace Lowlands with its mild climate host a variety of flora and fauna that trace their ancestry from species evolving in these adjacent ecosystems since the last ice age. This unique assemblage of plants, animals and ecosystems are at risk due to the Site C dam’s construction.
