An illustrated history
A full-colour illustrated history of cars and car-makers, with images of Canadian cars old and new, plus car company ads and promotional images. Canadians have been building cars from the beginning. GM, Ford and Chrysler dominated the economy for the latter part of the twentieth century. In recent years, the industry has become more vulnerable, particularly with US trade threats from Donald Trump. Business historian Dimitri Anastakis chronicles the industry right up to the present. Dimitry Anastakis
Dimitry Anastakis is professor and the Wilson/Currie Chair in Canadian Business History at the University of Toronto and his primary research examines Canada's role in the North American auto industry. He is the author of numerous books, including Dream Car: Malcolm Bricklin’s Fantastic SV1 and the End of Industrial Modernity and Auto Pact: Creating a Borderless North American Auto Industry, 1960–1971. He lives in Toronto, Ontario.
