Here Come the Bad Guys

From: Dangerous Enemy Sympathizers

$5.00

After the departure of the Jewish internees in the summer of 1941, Camp B held a mix of Germans, German-Canadians, as well as other Canadians and men from all over Europe. If the tragedy of the camp’s first stage was the injustice of needlessly incarcerating Jewish refugees eager to assist the Allied war effort, the tragedy of the second stage was the mental and physical trials of long-term imprisonment. While the prisoners made several escape attempts, the remoteness of the camp rendered their efforts unsuccessful. Later, a large number of Italians and Italian-Canadians were tranferred to the camp, leading to tension among the prisoners.
