Reimagining access for marginalized people

From: Do Androids Dream of Electric Cars?

$2.00

Chapter six of Do Androids Dream of Electric Cars? considers the issue of access for marginalized people relating to the three automobility revolutions, and argues that these coming trends do not address the needs of diverse individuals. The author looks specifically at transportation safety of people with physical disabilities, seniors, women, non-binary and genderqueer people, and trans people. Then he considers the challenges and opportunities posed by public transit for safety of marginalized people and finds that a lot of work needs to be done to make public transit more inclusive to people with disabilities, and to make it safer for women, and genderqueer or trans people. The author gathers many ideas of ways to address these issues.
