GORDON CHONG was born in Toronto in 1943 at the Toronto General Hospital. He attended dental school on Elm Street. After ten years of practice, he was elected as senior alderman in Ward 6, serving on both Toronto and Metro councils simultaneously. He is proud to have signed the application for the first Pride parade despite opposition from some older Chinese and non-Chinese constituents, and is delighted that Toronto is one of most diverse and welcoming metropolitan areas in North America.
