HOWARD MOSCOE’s grandparents settled in the ward around 1911 when they immigrated to Canada from Ivansk in Poland. Howard served for thirty-two years on North York, Metro and Toronto councils as the Councillor representing the largest Jewish community in Canada. His careers included President of the North York Elementary Teacher’s Federation, a nine-year stint as chair of the Toronto Transit Commission (ttc) and the Chairmanship of Toronto Licensing and Standards.
