Anne McGillivray
Anne McGillivray is a professor of law at the University of Manitoba. Her research centres on childhood, children’s rights, and the right to live free from all forms of violence. Her publications include Black Eyes All of the Time: Intimate Violence, Aboriginal Women and the Justice System (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 1999) Governing Childhood (Hants: Dartmouth Publication Company, 1997), and over fifty chapters, scholarly articles, and reports on childhood, rights, corporal punishment, parens patriae, Aboriginal childhood, child protection, violence against women, and the child in literature. She serves on the boards of the International Journal of Children’s Rights, the Canadian Journal of Human Rights, and Mosaic: A Journal for the Interdisciplinary Study of Literature. She served on the 1997 CIDA Children’s Rights Delegation to Cuba and the Health Canada Steering Committee for the Canadian Incidence Study on Child Abuse and Neglect Part II.
