In this chapter, the author travels to Minnesota to interview researchers at the Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center (MAISRC). Topics discussed include different non-physical options for containing the spread of Asian carp including pheromone control and deliberately elevating CO2 levels in rivers and streams.

He received a master of fine arts in creative nonfiction from the University of King’s College in 2016. He lives in Toronto, Ontario, with his wife and daughter.
