Alex Himelfarb
Alex Himelfarb served as a senior federal public servant for 28 years before his retirement in 2009. Among the various positions he held were Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet under three Prime Ministers. He also served as Canada’s ambassador to Italy, Albania, and Malta. Prior to his government service, he was a professor of sociology at the University of New Brunswick, and is now chairman of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness.
