CRAIG HERON is professor emeritus at York University, where he taught in the history and labour studies programs for thirty-five years. He is the author of numerous articles and books on Canadian social history, including Booze: A Distilled History (2003), The Worker’s Festival: A History of Labour Day (2005), and Lunch-Bucket Lives: The Remaking of the Worker’s City (2015). He has been co-chair of the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre, vice-chair of the Ontario Heritage Foundation, and president of the Canadian Historical Association.
