Jean-Aubert Loranger

Jean-Aubert Loranger, a descendant of Philippe-Aubert de Gaspé, was born in Montreal in 1896. Orphaned at the age of four, he was raised by foster parents and, at the age of 22, became one of the founding members of the literary group that published the avant-garde art and poetry journal Le Nigog. In 1924, he began working as an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life, a position he held until his untimely death in 1942.
