The Four Tragedies of Lac-Mégantic

From: The Lac-Mégantic Rail Disaster

$1.10

Describes the series of subsequent tragedies that befell the Lac-Mégantic community: widespread PTSD and other health problems; legal predators who exploited vulnerable victims’ families; and the arrival of disaster capitalists pushing the narrative of "creative destruction" and a "clean slate" resulting in the needless and unpopular demolition of the rest of the town centre. Identifies the resistance of citizen advocates who continue to challenge the powers that be, warning of still-present safety risks and fighting for justice for their community.
