The Hard Part
The Erasure of Queer and Trans Experiences in an Online Debate about Male-Only Barbershops
From: Divided
$1.70
This essay explores the controversy generated by the author’s attempt to get a men’s haircut at a barber shop in Regina. The author suggests that due to heteronormative conceptions of men and women, they were cast as a feminine aggressor with a hidden feminist agenda to smear the barbershop and attack male-only spaces.
