Those Who Left and Those Who Stayed
This chapter details the author’s experiences growing up as a gay man in Eqypt, and his work with refugees and migrants who have been affected by HIV.
Ahmed Aawadalla is a sex educator, psychosocial worker, writer, retired pharmacist, and recovering workaholic. Their work has focused on the intersections between health, sexuality, gender, and migration across Egypt and Germany. They are also engaged in antiracist activism, particularly from a queer refugee perspective.
