Poonam Puri

Poonam Puri is one of Canada’s most respected scholars and commentators on issues of corporate governance, corporate law, and securities law. She is associate dean, research, graduate studies, and institutional relations and professor of law at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. She is co-director of the Hennick Centre for Business and Law, a joint initiative of Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business at York University. She has also served as research director at the Capital Markets Institute at Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto. Professor Puri was the co-research director for the Task Force to Modernize Securities Legislation in Canada, as well as the expert panel on Securities Regulation, and she has conducted extensive research on issues relating to the Canadian capital markets.
