After a short stay in Trois-Rivières, 711 men and boys arrived at Camp B in Sunbury County, New Brunswick, where locals had been toiling to finish constucting the site. Here they were guarded by a company of the Veterans Home Guard, despite the fact that all 711 were formally classed as refugees, and many had been imprisoned in Nazi camps, or had relatives murdered by the Germans.
