The Quarantine of the Opium Eater, Notes on Getting Well
Interdependence
From: On Opium
$5.80
This chapter explores community, including various methods of harm reduction and a conference in Portugal, where all drugs have been decriminalized. The author describes online support systems and personal connections blooming throughout a Covid-19 lockdown. She concludes with different vision of recovery that involves changing the conditions which may have led to problematic drug use and that in fact has very little to do with the drug but everything to do with full citizenship in the community, accessing human rights, and subjective well-being.
