Arthur Manuel is past chief of the Neskonlith Indian Band and former chair of the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council. He co-chaired the Global Indigenous Peoples’ Caucus at the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. His recent book, Unsettling Canada: A Wake-Up Call (Between the Lines), co-authored with Grand Chief Ronald Derrickson, relates the history of a generation of activists fighting for Aboriginal rights in Canada.
