France Gélinas is a licensed physiotherapist, a graduate of Laval University in Quebec. She has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Laurentian University. For the last eleven years she has been executive director of the Francophone Community Health Centre in Sudbury, Ontario. She has served on the board of directors of the Association of Ontario Health Centres for the last six years and is currently president of that board as well as a board member of the Canadian Alliance of Community Health Centre Associations. She worked for over ten years in hospitals throughout Ontario. She has held positions in the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care of Ontario, mainly in the area of hospital restructuring.
