Disclosing the Abuse

New!

From: Child Victims in Canada’s Justice System

$0.70

Chapter Four Disclosing the Abuse examines the challenges of getting children to come forward with their abuse to those who can help; many children do not report their abuse until much later, or may never tell at all. This chapter discusses how children decide when and whom to tell, the possible reactions of the person listening to this information, and the important steps that they must take. This chapter is particularly relevant for those working with children in a professional capacity, such as in an educational setting.
