How Social and Economic Factors Affect Our Well-Being

This book looks at the well-known link between social equality and the health and well-being of a country’s population, with a Canadian perspective and using Canadian data. As of 1999, when the book was written, the trend towards greater inequality within Canada was evident, a trend which author Moncia Townson felt would lead to a decline in Canadians’ overall health and well-being. The book deals in turn with the overall health of Canadians, inequalities in level of health arising from social and economic factors, and with the policy implications of this discussion.
