Nelson Camilo Melo Maya is a small producer of high quality and certified organic coffee in Cauca, Colombia, with his own brand, Nelson Melo, in the US market. He is the chair and legal representative of the Organic Producers Association of Cauca (organica). He has been member of the board of the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Fair Trade Small Producers and Workers (CLAC) and worked for clac as a strengthening official. He has worked as general secretary of the Colombian Initiative of Small Fair Trade Producers. He was vice-chair of the Small Producers’ Symbol (SPP) and was elected its chair in June 2018.
