Beryl T. Sue Atkins

Beryl T. Sue Atkins was general editor of the original Collins-Robert French-English Dictionary, then lexicographic adviser to Oxford University Press, before founding with Adam Kilgarriff and Michael Rundell the Lexicography Master Class. She originated the idea of the British National Corpus and is currently lexicographic adviser to the FrameNet project at ICSI, Berkeley, California . In 2002, she was made an honorary life member of EURALEX (the European Association for Lexicography).

Pierrette Bouillon obtained a degree in classical philology and a PhD in linguistics from the Université Paris VII. She is now maître de conférence et de recherche (MER) at ETI/TIM/ISSCO, University of Geneva, with a particular interest in lexical semantics (especially generative lexicon theory) and machine translation. She currently heads a Swiss national project called Automatic Spoken Language Translation for Medical Applications.
