This chapter concerns caregiver’s responses to their important one’s diagnosis, the impact becoming a full-time caregiver had on their own health and wellness, and the effect this had on their self image. Another component of these topics frequently raised by caregivers was their sense of isolation (especially during a pandemic), fear, anxiety, and exhaustion. It also discusses the difficulties associated with taking on new roles, sometimes those held by the person they were caring for.
