Karen Hoeft has been a Salvation Army Officer for over thirty years. She has been an advocate to bring together many different sectors to build community-based capacity to respond to the need for affordable and adequate housing for all Canadians. She has been actively involved in running emergency shelters for over twenty years. She chaired the Coalition to end Homelessness in Yellowknife; partnered with the At Home/Chez Soi Study for the Winnipeg location; was a Citizen Board Member for the Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation; and participated on the Steering Committee for the establishing of the Bell Hotel Housing First Project in Winnipeg. She believes that when we work together real change is possible and we can build a better world.
